How We Get Paid, in Plain English
Before anyone hires a public adjuster, there is one question on their mind, even if they never say it out loud. Is your fee going to eat the money I need to fix my house? It is a fair question, and you deserve a straight answer, so here is exactly how we get paid, what that fee covers, and what it does not.
What our Fee Covers
The first review. We look at your policy and your damage at no cost, before you ever sign anything.
The Letter of Representation. We file it with your carrier and take the calls, emails, and paperwork off your plate from that point on.
The policy read. We go through your policy line by line to find every coverage you are owed, including the ones carriers quietly skip, like ordinance and law and code-required items.
The inspection and documentation. We come out, document the damage with photos, measurements, and scope notes, including what the carrier's adjuster might have missed.
The estimate. We build it on the Florida statutes and the Florida Building Code your carrier is required to follow, written in the format carriers work from, so they cannot wave it away.
The negotiation. We deal with the carrier's field adjuster and desk adjuster, start to finish.
The follow-through. Every supplement, re-open, and follow-up, until the claim is settled right.
The payout. A final review of the settlement and help coordinating how you get paid.
That is the whole job, for the one fee. Nothing on that list is an add-on.
The Numbers
The first look is free. No cost, no obligation. If we do not see a claim worth filing, we tell you and you owe us nothing.
Catastrophic claims: 10%. When the loss comes from a Governor-declared state of emergency, like a hurricane, our fee is 10%.
Non-catastrophic claims. 10%-20%. The exact percentage depends on the size and complexity of the claim. Smaller and simpler usually lands lower. We set this percentage so that math still leaves you clearly ahead after our fee.
Your living expense: 0%. We never take a fee on Additional Living Expenses, the money that covers a hotel or rental while your home is unlivable. That is yours.
Money you already received: 0%. We never take a fee on money your carrier paid you before you hired us.
Common Questions
The first look is free. No cost, no obligation. If we do not see a claim worth filing, we tell you, and you owe us nothing.
Catastrophe claims: 10%. When the loss comes from a Governor-declared state of emergency, like a hurricane, our fee is 10%. That is the most Florida law allows on these claims under §626.854, and we hold to it.
Non-catastrophe claims: 10% to 20%. The exact number depends on the size and the complexity of the claim. Smaller and simpler usually lands lower. We set it so the math still leaves you clearly ahead after our fee, and if it would not, we will say so.
Your living expenses: 0%. We never take a fee on Additional Living Expenses, the money that covers a hotel or a rental while your home is unlivable. That is yours.
Money you already received: 0%. We never take a fee on money your carrier paid you before you hired us. You keep all of it. We only earn on what we recover that you would not have gotten on your own.
The rules we hold ourselves to
We will not take a claim unless you come out ahead after our fee. If hiring us does not leave you better off than handling it yourself, that is not a claim we want, and we will tell you straight.
- We will never promise you a specific dollar amount, a multiplier, or a date your claim will close. No honest adjuster can, and anyone who does is selling you something.
- We will never charge you up front.
- We will never pressure you to sign on the first call. Take your time, and bring a family member into the conversation if you want one there.
If you have damage and you want to know where you stand, start with the free review. We will look at your policy and your damage, explain it in plain language, and tell you plainly whether a claim makes sense and what it would cost you to have us handle it. No pressure, and no charge to find out.
